We re coming as a family but my mum and my aunty are both over 60s and have high blood pressure. Can they do the snorkeling? If not can they come to the boat together with us?

I took the cruise two days ago, 16 January, and did the snorkeling. Absolutely, they should come. This is a large boat, with three levels for them to select the most comfortable place to sit. This large boat rides the seas well. On my cruise there was a group of about 10 passengers some well over 60 years old that handled the day just fine. It is a well-run boat, with truly supporting staff. They will be well taken care of. They can snorkel with security close to the boat. The buffet lunch is high quality, and they may well recognize the professional singer's songs from that era, on the way home with complementary wine and cheese. I urge they do it, including trying the snorkeling. Steve
We are planning to do the reef tour but have a flight scheduled departure time at 615pm back to Sydney, what is the arrival time in Cairns? We would like to make it to the airport by 530pm.

On my cruise 2 days ago, January 16th, the ship docked and passengers quickly disembarked, a little before 5 p.m. Cairns airport is only 10 kilometers from the marina, 15 minutes of driving. It's truly a memorable trip on this boat, the Evolution. I suggest you clarify the timing directly with Down Under, the cruise operator. I suggest, also, that you reserve a taxi or van to sit just outside the marina and wait for you. The walk between where the Evolution docks and the road where the taxis and buses wait for passengers is only a three to five minute walk. It's a memorable day and, based upon my experience, do your best to make it happen. Perhaps contact the airline and ask them about its policy on contingencies, since there are multiple flights of most carriers from Cairns to Sydney. Some carriers, if you conscientiously try to get to the airport but miss the flight by several minutes, will put you on the next flight since you showed you tried to get there on time. They often call it an out-of-control situation, due to rush-hour traffic, etc. In my opinion, enjoy the cruise!
We're hoping to do the snorkeling tour with 4 non-swimmers? Is it safe? what non-swimmers need to know, and be ready for? Thank you!

The operators are paranoid when it comes to safety. Not only do you have a lifeguard watching you, you also have the option of wearing life jackets and or using floating devices. If you choose not to do this they still have floating rings that you can swim to if you need a break.
