As of now, the NWS believes the storm caused minimal damage. Subsequent tornadoes that may have formed are still being investigated.
A preliminary report from the National Weather Service has confirmed an EF3 tornado hit Morganfield Friday afternoon. The report says the tornado had peak winds of 155 miles per hour. The tornado destroyed several homes and damaged others.
Eleven states have seen double or more tornado reports through May this year than the same time period last year.
