Following a recent claim from an artist that Bungie stole her artwork for Marathon, the developer has now responded — confirming the theft, and promising to conduct a review of the game's assets.

We immediately investigated a concern regarding unauthorized use of artist decals in Marathon and confirmed that a former Bungie artist included these in a texture sheet that was ultimately used in-game.

After being accused of plagiarism, Marathon developer Bungie admitted to the extraction shooter containing art stolen from an uncompensated artist.
