Walt Disney's movie studio has postponed the release of the next two installments in Marvel's blockbuster "Avengers" series, the company said on Thursday.

This change also saw Marvel Studios shift a number of other unannounced Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) off of its calendar, meaning 2026 will only have 'Avengers: Doomsday' and 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' on it schedule, which is set to release on July 31, 2026.

Marvel Studios has chosen to delay its next two high-stakes Avengers movies by seven months apiece. Avengers: Doomsday moves from May 1 to December 18, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars shifts from May 27, 2027 to December 17 of that year.

After returning as Wolverine in last year’s smash hit Deadpool and Wolverine, which marked the duo’s MCU debut, fans have been hoping the hero will show up in future Marvel projects.
