Denver Nuggets guard Russell Westbrook plans to decline his $3.47 million player option for next season, ESPN reported on Friday.

Denver also saw other pieces of their core put together a solid season including veteran guard Russell Westbrook who turned back the clock in his first season in Denver. Westbrook announced a few weeks ago that he underwent surgery on his right hand and he made a massive announcement on Thursday regarding his recovery in his Word of Westbrook newsletter.

Čančar has been a Nugget since the 2019-20 season when he arrived from Slovenia, only playing 143 games in the last six seasons. He’s been a good end of bench player for a while, especially in the locker room, but the Nuggets will have to make some tough choices in the coming weeks.

The nine-time All-Star is coming off a solid season, as he averaged 13.3 points per game, 4.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 32.3 percent from three in 75 games in his first season with the Denver Nuggets.

The most valuable thing sitting on the Nuggets bench during the playoffs was the first aid kit. Until that changes, neither will anything on the Joker’s spring itinerary.
