Poland, Presidential Election

Polish centrist presidential candidate Rafal Trzaskowski said he won the second round of the election after an exit poll showed him narrowly in the lead ahead of nationalist candidate Karol Nawrocki.
Political outsider and conservative Karol Nawrocki is looking to defeat Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski, in Poland's presidential election on Sunday.
Poles elect their president on Sunday in the biggest test yet of whether Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s pro-European agenda is going to prevail against the surge of the country’s nationalist forces.
Bogusław, 79, who is buying strawberries from another stall, chimes in as well. “The people voting for Trzaskowski are so stupid, he’s going to sell us out completely,” he says. “Polish farming will be non-existent, he’ll agree to anything. The EU will start importing [produce] from North African countries where everything is cheap.”
It will be a bitter contest, with insults hurled in both directions, dire warnings about the end of civilisation if the other guy wins, and a close result that the loser won’t accept as legitimate.
