Hawaii is under severe weather warnings, including high winds, thunderstorms, and flash floods, as a storm approaches.

Potentially damaging southwest wind, a risk for severe thunderstorms, flash flooding and heavy snow on the peaks of the Big Island’s volcanoes are all in the forecast.

Severe weather is possible during the end of this work week. Several warnings and watches are currently posted across the island chain.

Drier weather weather for Tuesday. Heavy rains, thunderstorms and strong winds expected Thursday as a new storm system impacts the islands.

A powerful storm system will produce heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and rough waves throughout the Hawaiian Islands for the remainder of the workweek.
