MUMBAI, India (AP) — India captain Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from test cricket Wednesday ahead of the squad’s upcoming tour of England. The 38-year-old Sharma added that he will continue representing India in one-day internationals.

Rohit Sharma, the Indian batter, has retired from Test cricket after 67 matches. This creates a vacancy for an opener alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. Sharma had a successful run as an opener, scoring 2,697 runs.
