The Boston Bruins have been busy the last few weeks in the lead-up to the first major event of the NHL offseason, the NHL Draft, at the end of this month.

The Arizona Coyotes, before they became the Utah Hockey Club, selected Victor Soderstrom in the first round (11th overall) in the 2019 NHL Draft. During the 2024-25 season, Utah traded him to the Blackhawks along with Aku Raty and the contract of Shea Weber for a fifth-round pick in 2026.

Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, June 13, that the team has acquired defenseman Victor Soderstrom from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for defenseman Ryan Mast and a 2025 seventh-round draft pick.
