Mel Brooks will reprise his “Spaceballs” role as Yogurt in the upcoming sequel to the hit 1987 “Star Wars” spoof that will be released in theaters. The comedy legend, 98, hyped the new movie in a post on X on June 12.

This time he’ll just be acting, though, with Josh Greenbaum ( Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar) directing from a script by Benji Samit, Dan Hernandez, and Josh Gad. Gad is also expected to star, but that has yet to be officially confirmed.

Legendary Mel Brooks is set to reprise his role as Yoda-esque Yogurt in a new "Spaceballs," a parody of "Star Wars."

The Amazon MGM Studios' untitled comedy is set to hit theaters in 2027, with Brooks both starring and producing alongside Josh Gad.

The upcoming film will feature returning stars Bill Pullman and Rick Moranis, alongside a new cast that includes Keke Palmer and Josh Gad. It's described as a "non-prequel non-reboot sequel part two, but with reboot elements franchise expansion film," which feels perfectly on-brand for a movie that once sold branded toilet paper as a punchline.
