He was carted off the field on Sunday, and the team feared he had torn his Achilles, but that did not happen, as further testing ruled out the injury for the rookie, team sources said to PennLive. Unfortunately, Pittsburgh might have suffered a season-ending injury during training camp. According to a report from Nick Farabaugh of Penn Live, rookie tight end and fullback DJ Thomas-Jones is feared to have torn his Achilles during Sundy's practice.

The Steelers signed Patterson to a two-year deal, and ended up paying Patterson $3.2 million for just 147 snaps. He came along with Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, who he had long played for, and he will now hope to find another team.
