For the Rising Stars tournament, a combination of 24 first- and second-year players were drafted into three teams by NBA legends Chris Mullin (Team C), Mitch Richmond (Team M) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (Team T) with the fourth team comprised of G League players (Team G League).

Phoenix Suns rookie Ryan Dunn was awarded an invite to All-Star Weekend, as a part of the Rising Stars game. He was the injury replacement for Philadelphia 76ers guard Jared McCain. However, Dunn has had an impactful season that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet.

Suns superstar and future Hall-of-Famer Kevin Durant has been with the team since early 2023 and has yet to get past the second round of the playoffs in two attempts with a loaded core. This past trade deadline, Phoenix was fielding calls for him, which suggests the star could, and likely will, be moved this summer, per ESPN's Brian Windhorst.
