Taiwan is continuing its efforts to secure a trade deal with the US, a top official said, even after a court blocked many of the tariffs that President Donald Trump has threatened to impose on other countries.

A U.S. court has blocked some of the Trump tariffs on global imports, including duties on most Taiwanese goods. However, separate semiconductor tariffs remain a potential threat to Taiwan’s key tech industry.

The decision comes less than 24 hours after another court ruled against the president's use of an emergency law to justify tariffs on dozens of the United States' largest trading partners.
