NEW YORK (AP) — Columbia University has reached a deal with the Trump administration to pay more than $220 million to the federal government to restore federal research money that was canceled in the name of combating antisemitism on campus, the university announced Wednesday.

Columbia University said on Wednesday it will pay over $200 million to the U.S. government in a settlement with President Donald Trump's administration to resolve federal probes and have most of its suspended federal funding restored.

Education Secretary McMahon highlighted Columbia University's new accountability measures and cooperation with the NYPD after the historic $200 million settlement.

Columbia University has agreed to a $220 million settlement with the US government following a federal investigation into its handling of antisemitism during protests related to the Israel-Gaza conflict.
