Arthur was a tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico Wednesday morning Central time, the National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory.

The worst weather may be yet to come as heavy rain and strong storms move into Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

"Even though Arthur is no longer a tropical cyclone, heavy rainfall and life-threatening flash flooding will continue to be a major hazard for the next few days across the southeastern United States,"...
