The Golden State Warriors are 9-9 entering Sunday's slate of games, sitting in eighth place and right in the play-in.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr didn't offer much of an update Sunday on the status of Golden State forward Jonathan Kuminga's recovery from knee soreness.
Golden State Warriors head coach told reporters on Sunday that Jonathan Kuminga was "not moving well" due to bilateral patellar tendinitis in his knee and has "no idea when he's gonna play."
After a lengthy restricted free agency negotiation process, the 23-year-old agreed to a two-year, $46.8 million contract with the Warriors prior to the start of the season. The deal has a $24.3 million team option. Because of the timing of the agreement, Kuminga cannot be dealt until at least Jan. 15.
Against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, the Warriors essentially closed with a Curry-Podz-Payton-Butler-Green lineup, as it played from 3:46 to 49.9 left in the fourth quarter. The lineup entered the game down four and exited the game down four.
SAN FRANCISCO – Jonathan Kuminga’s mysterious knee injury could be far more serious than initially believed.
While Butler noted that he's "always optimistic," the Warriors' swingman has been frustrated with Golden State's defensive effort.

Golden State Warriors could still trade Jonathan Kuminga
However, there's still a long way to go until Kuminga is eligible to be traded. He could still get his season back on track and re-emerge as an important part of the team's rotation. However, if things continue in the current direction, a trade may be best for both sides.
