Early iterations of the new Disney+ Marvel series were not planning to bring back two of the Netflix Daredevil series' most important characters.

Daredevil: Born Again is bringing the The Man Without Fear back into the center of his own series, and the way the show is being structured, among other developments, makes the return of Daredevil’s fellow Defenders from the Marvel-Netflix era a virtual necessity.

Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane has explained why he pushed for Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page to return and says that, before the overhaul, the show was "trying to blaze a new trail."
