Though I did enjoy some of the callbacks, jokes, silly references, and the show-stealing performance by a certain bad boy of golf, there was something about these homages that turned me off and took me out of the movie. In fact, I was quite annoyed…

O ver the weekend, “ Happy Gilmore 2 ” teed off in a big way, hitting the No. 1 spot on Netflix right after its July 25 premiere. Nearly 30 years after Adam Sandler first introduced us to the hockey player-turned-golfing legend, the sequel is serving up a double shot of nostalgia and fresh laughs — and fans can’t get enough.

Let us guess: in Happy Gilmore 3, Adam Sandler will kick a guy in the nuts. In the meantime, he’s doing that – and somehow less – in Happy Gilmore 2.
