President Donald Trump’s $9 billion rescissions package is back in the House after being passed in the Senate. But while Congress is on track to give the president his first DOGE cuts, it’s hardly a great victory.

The $9 billion rescission request now heads back to the House, which narrowly passed a similar version of the DOGE-inspired cuts in June.

The Senate is moving closer to codifying the cuts to government spending championed by President Trump, Elon Musk and DOGE. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) raised objections to the cuts to public broadcasting in Alaska in an interview with CNN’s Manu Raju.
