Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic leader in the US House of Representatives, will meet with Texas Democrats in Austin on Wednesday, according to people familiar with the matter, as a national battle intensifies over President Donald Trump’s drive to redraw the state’s congressional maps.

"The DNC is all hands on deck to hold Donald Trump and Greg Abbott accountable for their scheme to use the tragic Texas floods as cover to redraw the Texas maps in a last-ditch effort to save the Republican majority," Martin told ABC News.

Gov. Greg Abbott put redistricting on the special session agenda. Texas Democrats are trying to fight the effort that could limit their clout in Congress.
