COLUMBUS — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced on Jan. 24 he has dispatched a nine-person fire management team from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) to assist firefighters battling the devastating wildfires that continue to rage in California.
Gov. Mike DeWine's Office said Fire managers in southern California asked states for help Thursday with wildfires surging through the area. In response, Ohio is sending a nine-person fire management team from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
According to a release from the governor’s office, fire managers in southern California sent out a request for additional resources on Thursday. In response, DeWine ordered a team from ODNR’s Division of Forestry in Columbus to Beaumont, California. Southern California has been facing constant challenges in controlling the fires.
