Pulaski County Special School Board members took action Tuesday night to determine that, moving forward, school board candidates will be elected to six-year terms instead of the current five years members serve.

Arkansas Sen. Tyler Dees (R-Siloam Springs) announced his run for re-election for his District 35 seat, according to a press release.

The Chair of the Arkansas Democratic Party is resigning.In a release, officials within the party confirmed that Grant Tennille, the current party chair, will resign on Tuesday, July 15. Tennille has served as party chair for four years.

Grant Tennille, chairman of the Arkansas Democrat party, will be stepping down in July after nearly four years in the position, with a new chairman to be elected within 60 days.

Although the 2025 session of the state Legislature ended May 5, local election officials are still trying to determine how some new laws will affect the election process.
