The Philadelphia Eagles are set to release six-time Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay, a person familiar with the decision said Monday. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team has not yet announced the decision.

Slay said before Super Bowl LIX that he wanted to play one more season and " would love for it to be a Eagle ." The 34-year-old could still return to the Eagles. It's unclear if the Eagles are cutting Slay with a post-June 1 designation,
