An American Airlines jet and a U.S. Army helicopter plunged into the Potomac River after a midair collision Wednesday night near Reagan National Airport outside Washington, D.C.
Washington D.C.-area sports teams have been sending their thoughts and prayers in wake of the plane crash on Wednesday night. The Washington Nationals said in a statement that they were “devastated” by the collision that occurred just above the Potomac River, according to TMZ.
