On Friday, May 16, IMS officials announced an expected grandstand sellout for the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 25. "A select few tickets remain in the IMS grandstands" as of Friday morning, IMS said in a statement, adding that a full reserved seating sellout is "likely to occur" by the end of practice Monday, May 19.
