Parts of northeast Missouri and central Illinois are bracing for a significant risk of dangerous flash flooding on Sunday afternoon and into the evening, with numerous flash floods possible. In addition to the flash flood threat, scattered severe thunderstorms could also impact parts of the Midwest and Northeast later Sunday and into the night.

Parts of the country could see half a month’s rainfall on Monday as forecasters warn summer storms could bring flash flooding. Heavy, thundery downpours are forecast to hit parts of the UK, with an amber weather warning for rain in place until 8am on Monday for the east of Northern Ireland.
