Elliott, 63, often called "Kenny," died following the recent London tornado, according to a GoFundMe. His niece, Rachel Harris, started the campaign to pay for his funeral expenses, with funds going to her father and Elliott's brother, Darrell Elliott.
The move would help get federal assistance moving into Kentucky to help people who saw damage to their homes after deadly tornadoes and severe weather last week. There have been reports of FEMA being on the ground, so WBIR 10News spoke with some people who live in the area.
Coleman said despite all of the disasters the state has faced in recent years, the promise to help everyone recovery still remains.
From Friday at 11:30 p.m. to Saturday at 9 a.m., the London-Laurel 911 center received over 600 calls for help as a tornado barreled through the area.
