It's official, Severance season 2 has become the most-watched show on Apple TV+, dethroning the beloved Ted Lasso and breaking records for one of the best streaming services. And honestly, it's easy to see why.

Since 2020, sports comedy-drama Ted Lasso has been the crown jewel in Apple TV’s crown, but no longer. Now, with an impressive 589 million minutes watched during the week of January 13, the sci-fi psychological thriller Severance has broken every prior record on the service.

While Severance beating out the popular Ted Lasso is impressive, it should be noted that Lasso premiered in the early days of Apple TV+, at which time the streaming service was still struggling to attract viewers. Ted Lasso is likely responsible for many of the subscribers who are currently pushing Severance to the top.
