Michigan is reportedly working on keeping basketball coach Dusty May in Ann Arbor to counter interest from Indiana, his alma mater.

May climbed the coaching ladder all the way to Ann Arbor. His Wolverines are 16-5 overall and 9-2 in the Big Ten, good for a tie for second place with Michigan State and a half-game behind 10-2 Purdue entering Friday’s games. He spoke this week about his return to Assembly Hall.

Dusty May and Michigan have a huge game this week as they look to take over first place in the Big Ten. The Wolverines are hosting #7 Purdue on Tuesday night at 7:00 ET from the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, and the game will be streaming on Peacock. Michigan is currently favored by 2.5 points.

Dusty May will return to his alma mater Indiana, where he spent four years as a student manager under Bob Knight, on Saturday with the Wolverines.

Michigan coach Dusty May, an Indiana graduate, said Saturday he is "very, very happy at the University of Michigan" and downplayed any potential of him taking the IU job, which is now set to open at the end of the season with Mike Woodson's impending resignation.

"Probably the loudest it's been in (Crisler Center during my career), at least top two or three," Will Tschetter said over U-M's win over Purdue.
