Sasaki, meanwhile, is the Dodgers' latest Japanese acquisition, joining his countrymen Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani. He was also an NPB star, earning two all-stars and a perfect game for the Chiba Lotte Mariners. He also set the league record for strikeouts in a game with 19 and holds a world record of 13 consecutive strikeouts.
