CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A bakery owner in New Hampshire testified Friday that his excitement about displaying a painting by high school students of giant pastries quickly turned to annoyance after a zoning code officer told him it was a sign and had to be changed or removed.

The donut-themed mural, painted by local high school art students, sits atop a bakery. The town’s zoning board decided it’s advertising, not art.

A New Hampshire town and a bakery owner are scheduled for trial in a First Amendment dispute involving a mural on the business.
