As fires devastated southern California, a family from Las Vegas recalled their experience with a deadly California blaze.

Massive wildfires began tearing across the Los Angeles area Tuesday, forcing Southern California residents to evacuate the area. Towering clouds of smoke caused by the fires have Nevada residents wondering if that smoke could be heading this way.

Restaurants in the Las Vegas valley continue to step in to aid victims of the Southern California wildfires as thousands have been displaced. Rachel’s Kitchen announced it will collect donations Monday and Tuesday at six of its locations.
