Red Sox All-Star pitcher Garrett Crochet appears to be manifesting a trade that would bring Minnesota starter Joe Ryan to Boston.

Crochet’s latest start came Saturday afternoon against the Tampa Bay Rays at Fenway Park. The Red Sox managed to score only one run, but that was enough for Crochet, who tossed his first career shutout. He gave up just three hits and zero walks, while striking out nine batters.

Anthony, the prized rookie who arrived with much fanfare, recovered from a slow start to red-hot status. His nine-game hitting streak is the longest for a Sox rookie since Tony Conigliaro back in 1965. He has been on a roll, hitting .389 with four extra base hits, 10 runs scored, six RBIs and an OPS of 1.044.
