Pakistan has recently promoted its Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir to its highest military designation of field marshal. The promotion makes him the second such officer to achieve the rank in the nation’s history. The General has been a topic of contention since the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.
