Louisiana is one vote away from banning fluoride in public water. Dentists warn it could lead to more cavities, especially in kids.

Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo became the nation's first top state health official to publicly oppose fluoride in water. Since then, more than a dozen other Florida communities have ended fluoridation. Supporters of the ban say it should be about personal choice, The Post reported.

State lawmakers voted for the bill that would prohibit local governments from adding fluoride to water. Supporters argue that the government should not decide whether fluoride is added to water. While opponents of the measure say it helps prevent cavities.
