On Sunday, however, Altuve was put to the test. During the first inning a ball got past shortstop Luis Guillorme and Altuve had to field the ball and throw home. The throw was wide and the Nationals scored their first run of the game.

Jose Altuve is spending much of his spring adjusting to his new home in left field after 14 seasons as the second baseman for the Houston Astros. One of Altuve's former Houston teammates helped with the move over the last week.

Jose Altuve ascended the steps of the third-base dugout, turned left prior to the infield dirt and continued onto a swath of outfield grass, bound for a new position and perhaps the next chapter of a storied career.
