FAIRMONT, W.Va. (AP) — American gymnastics icon Mary Lou Retton on Tuesday entered a no contest plea to driving under the influence stemming from a May traffic stop in her hometown of Fairmont.

Police stopped Retton on May 17 following a report about a person in a Porsche driving erratically, who smelled of alcohol and was slurring her words.

But Retton’s being in “good spirits” apparently is news to family members in Fairmont, West Virginia. The Daily Mail reported they that they haven’t heard from Retton since her May 17 arrest.
