No distress calls came from the Mexican Navy tall ship that crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge over the weekend before the collision, Mexico's Navy chief said.

A Mexican Navy tall ship called the Armada de la República Mexicana (ARM) Cuauhtémoc struck the Brooklyn Bridge at about 8:24 p.m. EST Saturday, May 17 killing two sailors and injuring over a dozen more.

Mexico's naval training ship crashed into the underside of the 142-year-old bridge Saturday night, killing two people and injuring 22 more.
