Nevada basketball coach Steve Alford voices his complaints of the college basketball transfer portal and NIL era following season-ending loss

Later this month, the transfer portal window will open for men’s college basketball. Players will be able to hit the open market after the first weekend of the NCAA tournament, and some have already announced their intentions to do so.

Nevada head coach Steve Alford is sick of NIL. Following a lackluster season ath saw the Wolf Pack finish 17-16, 8-12 and seventh in the Mountain West, the former Iowa, New Mexico and UCLA head coach made his opinions clear on the current NIL and transfer portal landscapes.

You might as well throw all that stuff out because the only question they're concerned about is what they're getting paid in the portal,’ Alford said.
