Fast-moving storms prompted a tornado warning and flood concerns in New Jersey overnight. CBS News New York's Derick Waller reports.
The intense thunderstorm may have looked and sounded like a tornado, but that's not what happened, according to forecasters who examined the damage.
Wednesday brings more late-day storms to our unsettled week. And with those storms, we are once again keeping an eye on our chances for severe weather, including damaging wind, hail, and flooding. A tornado warning has been issued for parts of Atlantic and Ocean counties in New Jersey until 11:30 p.
A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 16 miles west of Toms River, moving east at 20 mph. Radar indicates rotation.
"We have a frontal system that will make its approach tomorrow with also remnants of what is right now Tropical Storm Chantal. The moisture from that system will progressively make its way up there," Wunsch said.
