The announcement came just one day after the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) gave Verizon the green light to purchase broadband provider Frontier Communications.

Verizon has become the latest big company to end policies around diversity, equity and inclusion, or "DEI," in order to keep the U.S. government happy.

After FCC chairman Brendan Carr said Verizon agreed to end its DEI policies, the agency approved the telco's $20 billion deal to acquire Frontier.
