In the lore, Shiva is said to have 108 different names, each accompanied by a unique form. One of the fiercest forms of Shiva is Kalabhairava – one who is so terrifying that even time fears him. In this form, Shiva is the destroyer of time, a symbolism that is enormously relevant to those on the spiritual path. Kalabhairava Ashtami is an auspicious day dedicated to Kalabhairava.
