The wadding recipe I use is: 50% kaolin 50% coarse alumina hydrate For the kaolin I use EPK but I imagine most varieties will work sufficiently, as for the alumina hydrate, I prefer the more granular stuff as it tends to grind away once fired and it leaves less residue on the surface of the stoneware.
